NB: This game runs on the bottom screen, it needs screen swapping to be usable in widescreen on 3DS
Spider-Man - Shattered Dimensions (USA). The Wizard of Oz - Beyond the Yellow Brick Road (USA). Mega Man Star Force 3 - Red Joker (USA).
Mega Man Star Force 3 - Black Ace (USA). Mega Man Star Force 2 - Zerker x Ninja & Zerker x Saurian (USA). Mega Man Star Force - Dragon & Leo & Pegasus (USA). Pokémon - HeartGold/SoulSilver Version (USA) by fintogive and Robz8. The Idolmaster - Dearly Stars (Japan) by Robz8.
Mario Kart DS (USA) by KazoWAR and Robz8. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - Echoes of Time (USA). Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - Ring of Fates (USA). In the worst case scenario, they should work identically, with the best case scenario being slightly improved compatibility since they're no longer clobbering the other 16 bits that they were just filling with zeros. It won't take up more space, it will preserve the name you want, while at the same time allowing you to rename the other file to fit your sorting needs. These codes have all been updated to use 16-bit read/writes for the aspect ratio values. Now, for a suggestion, if you are not wanting to change the names you have because you want to preserve the names of the files how they were when you got them I would suggest making a Originals folder somewhere & putting a Hardlink of the each file there. With it using the filename you, as a user, have absolute control over the sorting. It's also nice because you can name things like "The Legend of Zelda" & "Zelda II: The Adventures of Link" to "Zelda 1 - Legend of Zelda.rom" & "Zelda 2 - Adventures of Link" so they sort together. For example, I have my most played games labeled "!Title.rom" so they sit at the top. I understand the things I want aren't common & don't expect them to necessarily be done, but the naming is a benefit. How is the sorting by title instead of by filename a preferable solution? I mean I understand what you are saying, but your reasoning is that you named your games by something that is not their name & you don't want to change how you named them correct? I know it's easier said that done and probably not a objective or you're project, but i would very much like having a library of games up to PS2,gamecube,wii and some kind of companion app or browser extension that act as middle man, deal with multizip, keep a cache of downloaded games and forward them to binary emulators. Heck, i think i go a little overboard but that could even allow to expand the usecase of your project to list consoles that are not supported and use it as a frontend for all kind of emulators. So, when you play on an old PC or want to use feature that are not supported by the web emulator (like touch screen for nds), you can just download the rom. The last one is probably outside the boundary of your project, but it could be nice to have a key bind on PC to actually download the rom instead of launching the game. Logo are nice, but when you look a game in a really big collection, it could be nice to switch to text and have over 20/25 titles to show up at once.

Up and down allow to browse between game, but it would be great to change the sorting with left and right and switch between alphabetic, last 10 played and favorites only (with a keybind to mark a game as favorite and a tiny star to add).Īn other feature related to game sorting that could be interesting is to be able to switch between logo and full text.

(or maybe with a text over the video player, on top, with a fade after 1 or 2 sec)Īs a side note, it's also useful when you have duplicate of a specific game, like, for example the goodrom, a fan-made translation and a mod that increase difficulty.
So the game browser layout look like this :įor us, western player, japanese logo are not really simple to read and while it's beautiful, it could be nice to have a key that allow to identify and show up the rom file name as text over the tv. While i'm at it, i can suggest some other improvements related to the game listing page.
